The Doctor Who Season 6 Christmas Special was given the title The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe and will air on December 25, 2011 on BBC One in UK and in BBC America in the US. This year’s Christmas Special is the seventh Christmas special since the show's revival in 2005.

Human doppelgangers on Doctor Who! In the Doctor Who Season 6 Episode 5, the Doctor and his companions will be dealing with human doppelgangers.  After their adventure with the Oods in the previous episode and meeting the human form of TARDIS in the person of the beautiful Idris, the Doctor together with Amy and Rory will be visiting Earth's future.

A solar tsunami hits the TARDIS and hurls it into Earth's future at a factory where human doppelgangers, or referred only as "Gangers," are used as manual laborers.  The solar tsunami had freed the Gangers, and the original people they are based on must decide whether to accept their counterparts or eliminate them.

The human doppelgänger is a tangible double of a living person in fiction, folklore, and popular culture that typically represents evil. In ordinary term, doppelganger or ganger is to referred to any double or look-alike of a person.

The Doctor Who Season 6 Episode 5: The Rebel Flesh is the first part of the two-part episode which featured the human doppelganger.  It was written by Matthew Graham and directed by Julian Simpson.  The second of the story was given the title “The Almost People”.
